Roger
Beaujolais Acoustic Trio

photo: Tom Benjamin
This trio from vibraphone maestro Roger Beaujolais is an offshoot from the
more ambient side of his nature as featured in his ballad playing on his
quintet albums & almost exclusively on his "Sentimental" CD released in
2005. Quite often the beautiful, atmospheric sound of the vibraphone is
lost in fast solos on standard jazz repertoire. This is a rare opportunity
to hear the acoustic sound of the vibes in a natural setting where no detail
will be lost. The repertoire will consist of some of Roger's compositions
from his albums interspersed with arrangements of some well known (& some
less well known) jazz standards. Roger will be joined by top London double
bass player Simon Thorpe who is a member of his quintet. On acoustic guitar
will be Chris Glassfield who has made a name for himself in the world where
jazz crosses over with classical & new age music. This will be a unique
concert in the church and one not to be missed.
