September 9th 2010 - Jim Fryer with Band of Gold

Jim Fryer began his career as age 16 in the Boston area. In the more than 3 decades since, he has toured internationally; recorded as a bandleader and sideman; and played television, radio, theaters, jazz clubs, and concert halls in a variety of musical settings.

First and foremost an exceptional jazz trombonist at ease in any style, he has become especially noted as one of the foremost traditional jazz exponents on the scene today. He often includes other brass instruments such as euphonium in his performances, and is increasingly hailed as a vocalist.

Band of Gold is one of the UK's top function and festival bands playing a mixture of mainstream and traditional jazz, lounge jazz, swing, bossa novas, blues and rock & roll. Jeremy Huggett, who formed the band in 1997, wanted a band that played mainly jazz, blues and swing, and a wide range of other music to appeal to everyone's musical tastes. The result was Jeremy Huggett's Band of Gold, and it rapidly became one of the most exciting, most popular and most versatile professional bands in the UK.
