is something of a Blues enigma. Originally from Lancashire, he now resides on the North Devon coast.
A shy and retiring man who readily admits that recording studios fill him with dread and that he'd rather go fishing with his dog for company, has, none the less, toured much of Europe and the U.S.A captivating audiences with his intimate blues style.
Softly spoken, Jim totally surprises his audience when he breaks into a number with a resonant, barrelhouse blues vocal and for years has been revered among professional musicians as a consummate finger picker and slide guitarist.
was born in England in 1944 and began playing the harmonica at the age of fourteen. he was inspired to start playing blues harmonica when he first heard Cyril Davies playing with Alexis Korner during the early sixties. He went on to play with various bands over the years and has been a full-time professional player since June 2001.
Recent work has included playing with Michael Roach, on tour in the UK, Ireland and Europe and also playing on two of his albums. He has also been touring and recording with Maurice Dickson. Ian played on his three previous albums and will be making a DVD with him this year prior to some more touring together.
