Get The Blessing is a Bristol based band made up of bassist Jim Barr, drummer Clive Deamer, trumpeter Pete Judge and saxophonist Jake McMurchie.

Their approach has much in common with the current crop of trailblazers, bands such as Polar Bear and Acoustic Ladyland. Their music also draws from influences as diverse as the Kings of Leon, Morphine and Albert Ayler.

Get The Blessing's catchy, rocking tunes and arrangements create a genre-bending blend of sounds that is all their own. Their debut studio album ‘All is Yes’, won the BBC Jazz Album of the Year in 2008 and their follow up CD 'Bugs in Amber', received much acclaim. There are taut unison lines everywhere, with lots of little circling patterns in the trumpet's mid-range and bassist Jim Barr's patterns are as sharply etched and strict as you could wish. Everything is tight, even down to the endings, which sometimes thump on a final 'wrong' chord as if to say 'right, that's that'.

Clive Deaner - Drums
Pete Judge - Trumpet
Jake McMurchie - Saxophones
