is a classically trained Italian virtuoso resident in London and Professor of both jazz and classical clarinet at the Leeds College of Music.
He started his career at a very young age (only twelve) performing at one of the most prestigious and ancient concert halls of his home town Naples. He is mainly active as a soloist touring extensively in the UK and Europe. His technique and knowledge of both the jazz and the classical repertoire has resulted in TV performances and several studio recordings.
Luca will be joined by pianist Paolo Losi. Having studied jazz piano in Milan before moving to London in 1994, Paulo has been very active within the UK music scene and has been collaborating with Luca for the past few years including performances at St James's Piccadilly and the National Theatre of London.
The programme will include new music that is unique and varied, noted and improvised, embracing romantic atmospheres, contemporary idioms and heartfelt melodies. Though exceptional virtuoso skills are clearly evident, the music always has a distinctive melodic sense influenced by the European tradition and Luca's Neapolitan heritage.
