is a quintet of young jazz musicians from Trinity College of Music, Royal Academy of Music and The Manhattan School of Music, New York, who are making waves on the London jazz scene. They play regularly with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and have performed with many International jazz artists.
Matt Robinson currently studies jazz piano at the Royal Academy and has performed and recorded with the NYJO and the Doncaster Jazz Orchestra. Ben Mallinder (tenor sax) toured with the Doncaster Jazz Orchestra and is currently studying jazz performance at Trinity. Douglas Marriner (drums) awarded a scholarship to study jazz at Trinity. Whilst still at school, he performed at the Royal Festival Hall and Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. Jonathan Murray (trumpet / flugelhorn) was awarded a full scholarship for the Manhattan School of Music and recently returned to the UK to continue his studies at Trinity. Ollie Hopkins (double bass) was awarded a scholarship to study jazz performance at Trinity.
They will be playing a mixture of modern interpretations of jazz standards and their own original compositions.
