is a self-taught finger-style guitarist, which is an approach favoured by guitarists such as Joe Pass and Martin Taylor, a relatively unusual technique which involves playing bass lines, chordal ccompaniment and melodic lines simultaneously.
Initially a classical pianist, Nick has developed an approach to playing solo jazz guitar which is harmonically rich and rhythmically varied.
Expect to hear original, semi-improvised interpretations of jazz classics from the Great American Songbook, the tender, reflective ballads of Kern, Arlen, Porter, the brash exuberance of Django-era Parisian swing, a dose of Ellington, some lyrical bossa nova and a flavour of more contemporary blue and modal styles.
