OWL & THE PUSSYCAT 7.00-10.30pm Renate Hartnagel - Accomplished
pianist and alto sax player - with a set consisting of popular ancient and
modern jazz standards, Latin Jazz to Blues and Boogie Woogie.
JOLLY SAILOR 8.30-11.00pm Father Mike's Hot Four - Led by Mike Lewis the band maintains a dedication to the authentic recreation of the exuberant music of the earliest years of jazz in New Orleans.
SATURDAY 18th
OWL & THE PUSSYCAT 10.30-12.00pm Teign Delta Four - Their
heart is in the music from the era between the two World Wars, sprinkled
with older classics and spirituals, all with a jazz flavour
MICHELMAS GOOSE 12.00-2.00pm Charlie Hernshaw & Maxine Green - French style
café music with a difference from clarinettist/saxophonist Charlie, with
singer/guitarist Maxine, performing standards and originals
REGENT STYLE 1.00-3.00pm Dave Stephens - Dave is focusing on solo acoustic work having recently produced a new CD 'A Place In The Sun', featuring original pieces for nylon-strung guitar.
SWANSONS 2.00-3.30pm The Cool - Modern jazz celebrating the 'Blue Note' era - John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Mingus etc - by a 7/8 piece band with a BIG sound
ICE FACTORY 3.00-5.00pm Ice Factory Syncopators - Formed by musicians from Teignmouth's fortnightly 'Traditional Jazz Club' and led my local pianist Stan Stanworth.
SWANSONS 4.00-5.30pm Neil Burns Trio - Standards and modern jazz from
one of the finest young jazz guitarists in the area.
