Charlie Hearnshaw Trio - Jazz Bach to Beatles
Charlie's website

The trio features Charlie Hearnshaw clarinet and alto sax, Andrew Barrett guitar and Mike Thorn double bass. The trio presents its Jazz Bach & Beatles concert program which mingles jazz versions of Bach compositions and Beatles tunes (played as instrumentals, no singing) with swing tunes and original compositions written especially for the trio. Bach was the original jazz musician, renown for his improviational skills. There is very little in modern jazz harmony that cannot be found in the works of Bach. He presents a rich and challenging panorama for the contemporary improvising musician. The Beatles wrote some of the most popular tunes of the 20th century. Jazz musicians have always taken popular tunes and made them their own and they find The Beatles' music emminently suitable for their own use.
