LEFT BANK Thursday 20th April 2006

LEFT BANK, a quartet of seasoned musicians playing hard driving, dynamic and highly rhythmic Jazz (Jazz yes, but perhaps not as we know it!). This band lives its Mission Statement - 'To play live music that is entertaining and artistically satisfying and technically risky, out-there on the edge. Music for Heart, Mind, Soul and Foot!'
LEFT BANK is definitely guaranteed to raise the temperature and the pulse rate. ·

Saxophonist Gary Bayley has worked in the studio on music for Kate Bush and Go-West, played Extreme Modern Jazz with New Yorker John Zorn and was flautist with the ultra-civilised Elizabethan Consort of Musicke. Gary has been described as 'a fine original player' by Radio 3 and 'an explosive improvising talent' by The Guardian. ·
Electric Bassist Ralph Langfield is master of all things funk on all of his fretted and fretless instruments! A high spot of any LEFT BANK gig is the near legendary 'Ralph Special', his extended solo spot using bass and an array of the latest electronic gadgetry!
Dave Stephens has chosen to use Electric Guitar plus 'electronics with attitude' having just completed his reflective solo acoustic guitar CD 'A Place in the Sun'! Mr Stephens has had fine CD reviews in the past from Guitar masters on the world scene- John Etheridge and John Scofield in America.
Drummer Ian Loud has vast experience in the pop business all over Europe both as a musician and studio engineer working with many well-known bands! ·

Suitable for ages ten to 'very old indeed', LEFT BANK gigs are rare in the U.K. catch them before they depart for their Tour de France 2006.
