Harry Fulcher writes: THE LIMBIC SYSTEM,born to gig, is a cracking band of friends who have shared their musical visions for over a decade coming together to make original jazz music from a kinda sorta Weather Report angle. It is also the name of an area of the brain which deals with extreme emotions. A neurologist who fell in love with the band and the music at a recent gig touched my arm as she told me “I tell my students: the limbic system is where all the excitement comes from” Amen!

The Limbic System is a reincarnation of "The Complete Dbs", a jazz fusion band I formed in 1991 with Dhevdhas Nair, Kevin Sanders and Sean Willmott. Kevin and I had been working together in my straight-ahead jazz groups for a couple of years already. I met Dhevdhas on someone else's gig and as soon as I heard him play I knew I had found the keyboard player of my dreams! Around that time I was writing pieces inspired by my love of the great fusion bands like Weather Report and Pat Metheny and the time had come to form a band to perform them. Dhevdhas and Kevin were obvious choices. Kevin recommended Sean Willmott who turned out to be the drummer of my dreams. Zoe Lambeth currently plays on sax instead of Kathryn Stagg (off having twins) and Andy Christie, guitar, is exactly the man for the band.
